Concept demonstration sessions will be delivered and recorded via Zoom.
There will also be an OffSec Academy: PEN-200 Discord channel open to currently subscribed or enrolled PEN-200 customers to allow for ongoing engagement with other students as they follow the suggested learning journey.
Assistance will be provided by the OffSec Academy, Student Mentor, and Content teams in the OffSec Academy: PEN-200 Discord channel. However, the Discord channel is designed primarily for student-to-student interaction and learning collaboration for those currently enrolled in PEN-200.
OffSec Academy: PEN-200 sessions will be led by OffSec Academy and Student Success Delivery teams.
OffSec Academy: PEN-200 is a scheduled streaming offering that will facilitate learning, improve engagement, and ultimately increase Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification preparedness and achievement for currently enrolled PEN-200 students.*
OffSec Academy: PEN-200 will provide a week-by-week learning plan - including learning objectives, recommended hours to dedicate, course modules to focus on, and Topic Exercises & Lab Machines to complete - along with weekly, live streaming webinars where our OffSec team will provide course-specific and interactive learning guidance and lab concept demonstrations. In addition, the OffSec Academy: PEN-200 offering will facilitate an OffSec Academy: PEN-200 Discord channel where currently enrolled students may collaborate to better understand the PEN-200 materials and methodology.
The OffSec Academy: PEN-200 offering draws from our years of experience and known best practices for learning.
OffSec Academy: PEN-200’s weekly streaming is included free for active OffSec subscription holders. OffSec PEN-200 standalone, Learn One and Learn Unlimited subscription holders will also be provided access to an overall PEN-200 learning plan, an OffSec Academy: PEN-200 Discord channel, streaming recordings, and lab concept demonstration machines.
*OffSec Academy: PEN-200 will most benefit Learn One PEN-200 and/or Learn Unlimited PEN-200 subscribers due to the 14-week learning journey duration.
Our goals are two-fold:
- Improve the overall PEN-200 experience by facilitating learning, improving engagement and ultimately increasing OSCP certification preparedness and achievement.
- Allow all currently enrolled PEN-200 students to gain many of the advantages previously available only to our OffSec Academy customers - including a point-of-view on learning journey, modular teaching, lab and topic demonstrations, and student cohort based interactions. These benefits will be available at no additional cost to currently enrolled PEN-200 students.
The OffSec Academy: PEN-200 offering is designed for currently-enrolled PEN-200 students. Those students with a Learn One or Learn Unlimited will likely benefit most as the learning journey duration is 14 weeks.
OffSec PEN-200 alumni are also welcome to attend the weekly streaming sessions.
If you are a former PEN-200 student (alumni), whether earning your OSCP or not, you may register - at no charge - to attend the weekly concept demonstrations. However, to get the full benefit of the OffSec Academy: PEN-200 offering we recommend re-enrolling in PEN-200.
The OffSec Academy: PEN-200 learning journey is included for all currently enrolled OffSec PEN-200 students, there is no additional cost. PEN-200 alumni may attend the Offsec Academy: PEN-200 weekly concept demonstration at no additional cost.
Yes, these will be made available to those currently enrolled in a PEN-200 course. The recordings will be housed in the OffSec Training Library, updated approximately one week after the live streaming session.
May I record the OffSec Academy: PEN-200 streaming session for personal use or to share with others?
No, these sessions are for live streaming purposes only. The streaming session may be recorded and distributed solely by OffSec. Recording your own version and/or sharing with others will be considered a violation of our academic protocol. OffSec will, however, record the sessions and make the session recordings accessible to all currently enrolled PEN-200 students.
The OffSec Academy: PEN-200 content is available for any students who have an active PEN-200 lab. If you do not currently have an active lab you may purchase additional access via the Buy More option of your Training library account.
If you are running an active PEN-200 lab in the old system, outside of the Training Library and wish to be migrated over, please submit a request here.
Can I enroll in PEN-200 at any time or do I have to go through all of the 14 week learning journey before I can sign up?
Currently enrolled PEN-200 students may attend from the outset, or drop-in/drop-out at any point along the PEN-200 learning journey. Anyone can join the interactive sessions. Existing students may also ask questions and collaborate on Discord. Sessions will be recorded and housed in the OffSec Training Library, for later viewing and reference.
Currently enrolled students can join at any time depending on their individual learning goals and objectives. This said, we feel that following the learning journey from the outset will likely serve most students well.
No special rewards or acknowledgement will be given to session attendees. OffSec Academy: PEN-200 is purely designed to assist our current students with their PEN-200 learning journey and experience.
OffSec Academy: PEN-200 is designed to be interactive and we encourage students to engage directly.
During the OffSec Academy: PEN-200 weekly streaming sessions, questions will be submitted through chat, and the OffSec instructors will address submitted questions in real time (first come, first served). Student questions will also be handled through Discord when the streams are not active.
Another key goal is to also encourage our active students to help each other along the way via the OffSec Academy: PEN-200 Discord channel.
If you attended OffSec Live: PEN-200 (our pilot initiative) and feel you would like further guidance and practice, then yes you should consider attending OffSec Academy: PEN-200. However, much of the approach and concept demonstrations will feel duplicative. One suggestion is to selectively review the on-demand pre-recorded sessions and target the areas you feel you need most attention. You may also attend any of the weekly live concept demonstrations if you are a currently enrolled student or PEN-200 alumni.
