What is SOC-200?
Security Operations and Defensive Analysis (SOC-200) is a foundational course. Students who complete the course and pass the associated exam earn the Offensive Security Defense Analyst (OSDA) certification, demonstrating their ability to detect and assess security incidents.
What are the prerequisites for SOC-200?
All the prerequisites can be found within the OffSec Fundamentals Program. OffSec Fundamentals is included with the Learn One or Learn Unlimited subscriptions. Prerequisite Topics include:
- PEN-100: Linux Basics 1 & 2
- PEN-100: Windows Basics 1 & 2
- PEN-100: Networking Basics
How can I purchase the SOC-200 course?
The SOC-200 course is available through the Learn One or Learn Unlimited subscription packages.

Can I purchase the SOC-200 course outside of the Learn subscriptions?
To ensure optimal value for our students and reduce the stress and time pressure during the learning process, currently, the SOC-200 course is only available in the OffSec Training Library (OTL) through the Learn One or Learn Unlimited subscription packages.
The OffSec Training Library will continuously deliver new content on a rolling, monthly basis. This means that if a student subscribes to a Learn package and starts the SOC-200 learning path, they will have access to new content that's yet to be released for their chosen course.

Where can I find the lab machines?
Similar to OffSec Fundamentals, machines associated with a Topic for SOC-200 and WEB-200 are included in the Training Material for that Topic to provide a more guided user experience. The Labs section of the Training Library will show Challenge VMs not associated with a Topic, but will not have all of the machines for a course.
When can I take the OSDA certification exam?
The Offensive Security Defense Analyst (OSDA) certification exam will become available soon.
