The certification exam simulates a live network in a separate VPN, which contains a small number of vulnerable machines. You will have 23 hours and 45 minutes to complete the challenge itself and a further 24 hours to submit your documentation.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I'M READY TO TAKE THE EXAM?
This is, of course, a very difficult question to answer. In general, we suggest at minimum hacking all the machines in the student network apart from pain, sufferance, and humble. This will give you the bare skills needed to pass the exam. Of course, we cannot guarantee this estimate.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE MY CERTIFICATION EXAM?
You can schedule your exam using the link that was provided to you in your welcome pack. If you’re unable to locate it, please contact our Orders department and they will be happy to re-send it to you. Using the link, you are able to see when there is a free slot in our exam lab, allowing you to select a date that suits you.
HOW CAN I FIND OUT MY EXAM SCORE?
While we cannot provide your exact exam score, you can use the point assignment outlined in the exam guide to approximate your score. Partial points can also be awarded for systems where full root access is not achieved.
WHAT IS THE EXAM RETAKE POLICY?
Students may schedule an exam retake within 120 days of the exam retake cooling off period as follows:
- After the 1st failed exam, a student may schedule an exam retake after 4 weeks within 120 days of purchase / end-of-lab.
- After the 2nd failed exam, a student may schedule an exam retake after 8 weeks within 120 days of purchase / end-of-lab.
- After the 3rd failed exam onward, a student may schedule an exam retake after 12 weeks within 120 days of purchase / end-of-lab.
HOW MANY OSCPS ARE THERE? WHAT IS THE PASS/FAIL RATE?
We do not release the number of people that hold our certifications or the success rate of completion for them. The exam-taking experience and perceived difficulty is different for everyone and we don't want to needlessly discourage or encourage students with numbers based on success or failure.
