In general, most access points can be used for the course exercises although some variations may occur. Your wireless card must be injection-capable so please refer to the Aircrack-ng wiki to verify compatibility.
The attacks and methods studied in the course are not Operating System dependent so you should not encounter any issues using Kali Linux rather than BackTrack. The primary difference between the two distributions when it comes to the PEN-210 course is that all tools in Kali Linux are in the system path rather than in a /pentest/ directory.
The only report that is required for PEN-210 is your exam report, where you are required to submit the retrieved wireless network keys and the steps that you took to recover them. However, we do suggest you take notes while you are doing the course as it will help solidify the information and make it easier to retrieve when you need a reminder of steps that need to be taken while attacking wireless networks.
